I love creating lessons and activities where students can be creative and personalize their work while also having hands on experience. I find that combining art and language arts is an easy way to do this. It can be as simple as having students create and personalize something like a snowman and then asking the students to name their creation, answer a few questions, such as what their creations like to eat or if they have friends or hobbies. Students love to present and show off their creations with the class afterwards as well.
