Educators value the success of all students. Educators care for students and act in their best interests.
I greet my students at the door each morning and they have the choice of saying hello, giving a high five, fist bump, showing a heart, or giving a thumbs up. This gives me the opportunity to check in briefly with each student and gives me a heads up to whether their day is starting off on the right foot or if some intervention may be necessary. It is also an important step in creating a positive classroom community and makes each student feel welcomed.
